Quick fix for hole left by removed wall heater?
Pulled out an old baseboard wall heater during kitchen update and now have a rectangular hole about 12×18 inches in the drywall. Not ready to patch and repaint yet. Looking for a clean, removable cover that won't look temporary.

Old heater removals leave pretty big holes that are hard to ignore. Instead of rushing into drywall work I cover them with a sturdy plastic panel that sits flush and looks finished once painted. The ones I like have reinforced edges so they don’t flex over larger openings, and a simple push-latch that’s almost invisible after painting. I primed and painted mine the same eggshell as the kitchen walls—it blends much better than spackle ever does on big patches. I recently used a solid wall hole cover sized 14×20 and it covered the heater opening perfectly. Just secure it lightly to the studs if the hole is wide, and caulk the perimeter for a tight seal. Makes the space usable again fast.
